He grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, rehearsing escapes in a refrigerator box. He left a drafting job to join a carnival, built a booking business in Sacramento, performed in Okinawa, and worked trade shows for companies that needed a crowd. He lost his retirement to a Ponzi scheme and kept going.

The people around him started calling him the Mindset Magician. He didn't pick the name. It stayed.
